Due to our recent decision to move to Arkansas, I decided to clear out a couple of headboard sets that I’ve had stored. One is a very elegant antique with a curved footboard. The other is a very boxy student bed made out of very heavy solid oak. After assembling them into benches:

I decided to paint the antique set white with some distressing. When I looked at the oak bed, it was perfect to do a weathered gray wood treatment on it.
The finished products:
I added a little “shell” relief to give it a little more flair.
I love the texture of the saw kerf and grains on this one.
