I had always wanted a big, classic, Cadillac. After already having a 1972 Pontiac Catalina convertible, and a 2003 Mustang convertible, I went on the search for the big Caddy.
I found this one on Craigslist. It was near by close to Dallas so we went on a drive to go look at it. The seller told us the very unique story of how he got the car, and why it was for sale. It seems the car was sent to him for a head bolt repair for the engine, from Colorado Springs, Colorado. While in his car, the original owner came down with a life threatening lung disease. So, the owner said, “please sell the car to someone who will take care of it. When I die, my kids would get it and they’ll destroy it.”
So, he put it up for sale. It was absolutely pristine! From front to back, inside and out, the car was spotless. not a scratch anywhere, or a smudge of dirt. I wasn’t happy with the color of the car, but due to the condition, we decided to buy the car.
After getting it, we discovered a small engine leak. While the selling party told us he’d guarantee the car and repair anything needing it, sadly he moved out of town with no forwarding service. So, we began the expensive repairs to the engine leak. Also, a window motor went out, so all wasn’t perfect on the car.
I was astonished at just how beautiful the car drove! The ride and controls were so smooth, and perfect! it had every option available and I felt like I was really riding high. After owning it for a few months, I couldn’t get past the color. So, the decision was made to sell it and look for the color I really wanted, Red!
