After deciding that we wanted to buy a travel trailer, we needed to get a truck to tow it with. So, I began every night looking through all of the car sales pages. I really didn’t have any preference for brand or color. I just wanted a good used truck. That was hard to find, here in farm country. Most used trucks, were just that, used – used up! But one day i discovered this red F-150 and it was in Dallas. So, we took a Saturday and went to see it.

It was being sold at a small used car dealership. We found out that it was actually owned by the restaurant owner next door and he’d asked the dealership to do him a favor and sell his truck for him.

It needed a good clean, but honestly, it was clear that this truck had never been a farm truck. The drivers seat had been reupholstered (as most we’d looked at were completely threadbare). It was all leather, Lariat edition, meaning it had all the bells and whistles. Showing only 135,000 miles, it was pretty low mileage for its age. Added to that, it had super nice wheels and tires! it was a really sharp truck – and it was red. Of course, it was.

The price was very much within our budget so – we found ourselves a truck.

We’ve had to do some minor repairs to it but we’ve already been on numerous camping trips with it and it’s serving us very well!
