That day, I made two trees, decided on paint and trim and stood them up to discover something really cool! So, I took them to our mall space and they sold quickly. So, I decided to make 8 more. We sold all of them almost as soon as we could make them.
This year I decided to get ahead of the game. We had to scour our area to find some old doors and finally we found 7 of them, so I began in September making trees. I was more intentional this time. I wanted them all to have hardware on them and I wanted to make each tree reversible so they could be used all year long. Some people put them on their porches, others use them inside.
I used several paint treatments from washing with thin paint, to sanding and staining. Some were bright colors, others deep fall greens and reds. It has been so much fun doing these trees because there is almost no rule on how they can be finished! I’m still experimenting, stay tuned.
